Well that didn't take long. We felt so bad about Sunny dying that we took Sam right to the pet store to buy a new pet. His name is Shadow.
Ian had planned to dispose of Sunny but Sam wants to bury him. Not in our current backyard.... in our NEW backyard. You know... the one we don't have yet.
Ian agreed.
WHAT!?!? How are we going to "store" a hamster body?
Well, he has wrapped him in paper towel and has been laid to rest in a gold box, which has been wrapped in packing tape multiple times and then put a green gift bag. He will be transported and stored in our storage unit until such time that we have a new backyard and Ian can bury him.
Honestly. The things we do for our children.
And to think that Ian laughed and rolled his eyes at me when I told him that we could store a dead body in our storage unit and no one would have any clue. And here we are... about to store a dead body in our storage unit and no one will have any clue.
You guys are going to be mobsters before you know it!
ReplyDeleteIt might be better to freeze the animal though, to avoid any smells.
Jen: I thought about that and I asked Ian and he rolled his eyes at me. I also wondered if I should buy a small rubbermaid container to contain the smell. Ohh.. then freeze it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was thinking freezer too...
ReplyDeleteMy condolences on your loss of Sunny, and congratulations on Shadow!
