Isn't that exciting? 500 posts!
Sorry to say, I don't really have anything earth shattering to discuss on this most momentous occasion.
Well, I suppose I could tell you about the fight Sam and Julie had before breakfast this morning. I could hear them all the way upstairs with the bathroom door closed. Sam was mad at Julie because she wouldn't help him bring in our horse-dog from his walk this morning. Julie was mad that Sam was bossing her around and telling her to put his dirty shirt in the laundry room. It hurts my heart to hear how harshly they speak to one another.
Do your children fight a lot? Do you encourage them to work it out themselves or do you sit down with them to resolve it?
I could also tell you about how the horse-dog needs to clean out his innards four times between 7:45am - 8:30 am. He was jumping all over me while I was preparing Jordan's breakfast and when I went to answer the phone, he pooped on my carpet. I was talking to Ian and he got an ear shattering "NOOOOOOOOO WIIIILLLLLOOOOOWWWWW NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" in the ear.
Sorry babe.
Or I could tell you how exhausted I was this morning after laying awake until almost 3am, and that I dozed off in my favourite chair with the sun on my face. I dozed for ten minutes and it felt like 5 hours.
Oh I love me a nap like that.
Very 500th Post worthy stuff, huh?
Happy 500th post!! Girl that is alot.. I think you are a professional blogger :)
ReplyDeleteMe and My Bros and Sis used to fight allll the tiime... mom would sometimes butt in and get us to work it out but most of the time she made us work it out on our own.. kind of learn a little more that way I think.
About the horse-dog..lol I have no useful tips! I would be very upset though if he was messing on my carpet after just being on a walk.
Good luck with all that girl.. and I think I feel inspired to find a sunspot for a few minutes to close my eyes
Happy 500th! Yes, my kids fight all the time! I don't interfere until I need too though.
ReplyDeleteVery, worthy! I think you should've done a giveaway with those fabulous cookies of yours! Fighting kids, pooping dogs? You deserved that nap!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! 500 posts is awesome! I am almost at 200. Congrats to you and I look forward to reading the next 500 posts:)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I'm following you now....I totally thought I already was!
ReplyDeleteHappy 500th post! I just hit 200 last month and I thought that was a milestone! Haha! My sister and I used to fight all of the time, actually we still do at 21 and 19. We are just so different and have never really got along. I don't know how my parents did it while we were younger!
ReplyDeleteYeah, my kids fight a lot. I usually have to intervene because Jayce's autism brain makes for a lot of misunderstanding!
ReplyDeleteHappy 500th post! Thats wonderful :-)
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I used to fight a lot..she'd beat me up..and bite me..we used to get spanked a lot..as for what I do with my kids..not much..pretty much let them work it out on their own..Of course..there is some yelling involved on my part.;-) They don't fight much though..
ReplyDeleteOh I almost forgot..HAPPY 500TH post..that's alot of blogging!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 500th post! And about the kids fighting...my sisters did (I didn't). My kids didn't but that's cuz they were all 5 years apart and I made sure they liked each other.
ReplyDeleteNow that NAP...you deserve it. Take more of them! Good for sanity's sake.
Happy 500th that is way too awesome!! My kids do fight but they are too little to let them brawl it out so I usually have to step in. :) My thoughts though because I know you won't sleep without them...sometimes I think that just letting them work it out is best, unless there's blood or something. And your dog, hmmmm, maybe he's getting too much fiber these days? :) You totally deserved that nap and I am very jealous of you. Hope grocery shopping went well tonight. :)
ReplyDelete500! Wow, that's a whole lotta postin goin on ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for your kids...my brother and I fought like nobody's business. My parents always let us work it out on our own unless someone was hurt. My brother and I actually developed a pact on our own that we could never call each other nasty names, and we would never say "I hate you."
P.S.
The dogs farts last night should have been a warning, no?
Good blog~nice to meet u..................................................................
ReplyDeleteYEAH!! GUESS WHAT??? I am THREE posts away from my 500th post on i am mommy. How similar are we? So, coming from someone that knows how long it can take to get to 500, I want to give you a big Ole Congrats girl!!!

Congrats! you are an insperation to all us newbies. Love your Blog!
ReplyDeleteWoman, I'm gonna bust you up. Superior cooking skills, eh? I chalk it up to girls being 8,942 times better than boys when it comes to feeding. It makes up for the fun high-school years wherein all they eat is rice and broccoli and drink cranberry juice to "be skinny like ____" right? I love me some nugs, but Jack even gets sick of them after awhile... so I'm going to get creative and MAKE MY OWN NUGGETS. Superior cooking skills THAT :-p
ReplyDeleteWow!! Congrats on your 500th post! I am 4 away from 100!
ReplyDeleteKids-fighting: well mine fight and they are only 5 and 2! Its always over toys though!
Can't wait to read 500 more!!
Big congrats on your 500th post! That is some accomplishment... I hope one I can celebrate that blogoversary too, but that's another year away AT LEAST!
ReplyDeleteI was an only child, so I never grew up fighting with a sibling. DH is one of four, and revels in telling me about those childhood rivalries. We're not sure if we'll have a second child; in a way, I yearn to see what life is like in a "multi-child" family, since I didn't experience that growing up.
