Tuesday's Treats ~ Root Beer Float Cake

I've been wanting to show you some of the yummy treats I've been creating lately and I've decided to post a little somthin' somthin' each week for you to see and maybe even try yourself.

I recently came across this recipe and really wanted to make it for Ian, as he loves a good root beer float.

It's a really nice cake and not too sweet, with just the right hint of root beer.

You'll need:

1 package (18 1/4 ounces) white cake mix
1 & 3/4 cups cold root beer, divided
1/4 cup canola oil
2 eggs
1 envelope whipped topping mix (Dream Whip)

How To:

Step One: Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, combine the dry cake mix, 1 & 1/4 cups root beer, oil and eggs. Beat on low for 2 minutes.

Step Two: Pour into a greased 13 inch x 9 inch baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Step Three: In a small bowl, combine the whipped topping mix and remaining root beer. Beat until soft peaks form. Frost cake. Refrigerate.

Enjoy!

  13. Hi! I found you while doing a little blog hopping. So glad I did. I love root beer floats. Haven't had one in years. The verse at the top of your blog is my memory verse this week in my Beth Moore Bible study.
I'm following now...so I can come back often.
