Casserole vs Hotdish

There is an ongoing debate on Twitter about what this is called:

Some say it's a casserole.

Some say it's a hotdish.

What do YOU call it?

  4. Absolutely a casserole! When my daughter was about 4 I went thorough a casserole phase. I have a whole book full of them. When I finally had enough of casserole dishes, she still called everything a casserole ... I.e. potato soup casserole, eggs casserole, etc :-) (now that I have typed 'casserole' so many times it's kind of lost its meaning and 'hot fish's sounds way better! Lol)

I had never, ever, ever heard of a "hotdish" until Mama M was mentioning it on the twitter. It's always been a casserole to me. Maybe it's a regional thing? (you know, like soda vs. pop etc)

I've tried posting this comment 3 times but for some reason your blog doesn't like my google account. :(

  7. Casserole. We're really sorry that Mama M. is so confused. I figure it's the impending pregnancy since she's getting rid of all the baby clothes.
