Ask Me Anything Answers - Part Two!

I'm back with some more answers to your terrific questions :-)

Tyler at Just Another Day In OUR Paradise asked:

1. What would you say is the biggest difference between Canada and U.S?

I'm not sure that this is the biggest difference, but this is the first one that came to my mind. Canada is very multi-cultural. If you were to ask someone here what they are, they will say they are Italian, Portuguese, Irish, Pakistani, and so on. But if you ask someone in the US what they are, they proudly say "I am American!" I really appreciate that. It gives off a sense of unity and pride in your country.

I think that it's great to embrace one's heritage, but oh... how I would love to hear someone say "I am Canadian!" then tell me what their background is. In case you are wondering, I AM CANADIAN! A fifth generation Canadian in fact, and my ancestors came from Ireland. Erin go bragh! Ian is a fourth or fifth generation Canadian and his ancestors are from England.

2. What will your little ones be fore Halloween? (If you guys are going trick or treating)

Sam is going as The Grim Reaper. Not my first choice but that's what Sam wanted. He even has red, glowing eyes to wear and they are a bit creepy. Maybe I won't look him right in the face while we out trick-or-treating. I'll talk to his feet instead.

Julie is going as a pirate. No idea what Jordan is going to be. That decision will be made tomorrow because HELLO KATE Hallowe'en is this weekend. I've seen a couple I like so that's a start.

3. Since you love to bake.. What is your favorite thing to make.. and the recipe please?

I love making Skor Squares and they are so ridiculously easy. Are you ready??

1 Box of Ritz Crackers
1 Package of Skor Chips
1 Can of Condensed Milk

In a bowl, crush the entire box of crackers, then add the Skor Chips and condensed milk. Mix well (might have to use your hands). Then press your mixture into a square pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Easy peasy! I often make a batch of these when I am going to a potluck or as a treat. Let me know if you try them and what you think of them!

4. What is the best part of being a SAHM? Worst part?

The best part is that I get to do what I love. I get to be with my 19 month old daughter all day. I get to take care of her. I get to see her firsts. I set her schedule. I love being here when the children get home from school each day, and to bake them cookies, make dinner, care for my home. I love all of it.

The worst part? That's easy. I sometimes struggle with wondering if I am doing enough. Ian goes out to work each day, in a very fast paced and stressful environment while I can enjoy a slower day, set to my own pace or commitments. I sometimes feel guilty that I am not in the workforce. Ian is very reassuring and we believe this is the best option for our family at this time.

Thanks for your questions, Tyler! Don't forget to update your blog so I have something to read! ;-)

Mindy at Because I SAID SO asked:

1. Is there a Rodgers Chocolates near you?

No! And I'd like to know why! I love chocolate!

2. Can you send me some?

I can send you chocolate, but it won't be Rodger's.

3. Where in Canada are you?

I live in Ontario.

4. Do you always say A after a sentence?

I say EH a lot. I mean... a lot. Usually it comes out as "...oh I know, EH?" like I am from Fargo or something.

Thank you for your questions, Mindy, and I'm sorry about the chocolate thing!

And the last ones for today are from Maggie!

1. Do you ever swear?

I would love to be able to answer this question with a resounding NO, but that wouldn't be honest of me. I do swear sometimes. The word I tend to use a lot is Jackass.

Yep. I said it right here for all of you to see.

I am not a fan of the F-word at all. And I hate hearing a woman use it.

2. Do you ever take the Lord's name in vain?

NO. No, no, NO! Never.

Thanks for your questions, Mindy! If you do decide to start a blog please let me know so I can check it out!

Until next time...
