Sweet Saturday

Today was a very busy but great day.

After a slow morning I took the children over to Wal-Mart so they could pick out their Father's Day gifts for Ian. Good grief...I was there with The King and Queen Of Indecision! They could not decide what they wanted to get him! Over an hour later we made it to the cashier and then headed over to McD's for lunch.

Ian took Sam to see The Incredible Hulk while Julie, Jordan and I stayed home and watched Racing Stripes. Afterwards she and I wrapped Ian's Father's Day gifts. Don't they look pretty?

I can't tell you what they are because Ian reads my blog and can be VERY nosy.

Once Ian and Sam came home I headed over to Fortinos to pick up a few things for our picnic at Chinguacousy park. Julie helped me make sandwiches and then she packed the basket for us. She did a great job, don't you think?

The park was packed with people but we found a lovely spot near the water and set out our blanket and had our dinner.

Afterwards, Ian played a bit of soccer with the children and they ran and ran to let out some pent up energy...

Run Sam... Run.....!

Of course wherever Sam goes.... Julie follows!

Ian took a few pics once the kids sat down to rest...

Eventually we got around to feeding the ducks even though it isn't really allowed. We Batterburys are RULE BREAKERS!

Once all the bread was gone we headed over to the playground. There were TONS of kids there! There is a merry-go-round type thing there that the children sit on and someone can spin it so they whip around like crazy. Ian got spinning it pretty fast and every so often a kid would fly off. Julie eventually came to sit by me and Jordan complaining of dizziness and a "barfy tummy". I guess so!

Jordan doesn't do much but I'll slip a pic of her in here anyway!

After following the children around and taking all sorts of pictures of them, I thought I would sit down. The only available bench was then covered by this person's bags... apparently they must have been much more tired than I was and therefore needed the seat more.

After the kids were all played out and I had a turn on the swings, we packed up and headed for home...

In case you haven't guessed... I am learning how to use Ian's new camera. In the last couple of weeks he's shown me how to upload pics and then resize them. My next lesson will be how to "clean them up" using Photoshop. Can't wait.

Here are a few pics on our way home....

This is the hospital that Jordan was born in. It's brand new :-) My friend Jen will be delivering her baby there around Christmas.

And this is Ian trying to explain why my idea of stopping for slushies at 7-11 at almost 10pm was a bad idea. Party pooper. ;-)

So there you have it... our day in pictures. Everyone is sleeping and I'm on my way.

God Bless.
